2003 New Xmas Revue
Director: Cheryl Threadgold

Formality, magical fun and frivolity were the ingredients for the 50th Anniversary ~ Christmas PANTO-REVUE. A tribute to acknowledge Beaumaris Theatre’s 50th Anniversary combined with the fun of a Christmas panto with Santa, Mrs Claus, Elves and Toys, as well as a musical and revue-style tribute to each of the five decades.

Keith, a current director at Beaumaris Theatre, reminisced with his cast and audience to pay tribute to 50 years of Bayside entertainment. Visits from the decades themselves lead us to briefly reflect on the times with humour, observation and song. And what about Betty-Lou and her pushy mum? Would Betty-Lou ever get a part in a play at Beaumaris? Meanwhile, there was a problem over at the North Pole. Orders were down somewhere in a place called Beaumaris in Australia. Perhaps Santa should send some elf sleuths over to find out why?

A cast of twenty-five performers transformed the original script written by director Cheryl Threadgold, into reality. Musical director was Rhonda Vaughan and choreographer Camilla Threadgold. The show’s musical content comprised a mixture of original material with well-known songs from each decade for audience sing-a-longs. The PANTO-REVUE was be an enjoyable show for all ages. To assist with archiving company history, a book was available in the foyer for past and present Beaumaris Theatre members to record names and any special recollections and memories.
