Death trap

The director of our Anonymous Theatre production for 2007 was Darius Pierce, one of the creators of Anonymous Theatre, who travelled all the way from Portland Oregan in the USA to direct "Deathtrap" for us. On Saturday 30th June this show was presented in Anonymous Theatre style, ie the actors had all rehearsed individually with Darius, but had no knowledge of who their fellow actors were until the curtains opened and the play was performed in front of the audience. "Deathtrap" is a thriller with twists, turns and suspense that was heightened by the Anonymous Theatre format. The performance was followed by a discussion with Darius, the cast and crew, to enable the audience to learn more of this unique experience and finished with a supper, included in the ticket price of $25. Tickets sold very fast for this show. Two more performances of this show were presented on the following Friday and Saturday, giving the actors a week to rehearse together, and audience members who missed out on the original performance a chance to see an excellent show.
