It’s hard to pick a favourite character, especially if you see it as a woman yourself – you will probably relate to each one of them in some way, or, picture in your mind, a friend you could easily have represented by one of them somewhere within the plot.

We are delighted to announce the directors and actors who will be bringing original work to life in Beaumaris Theatre's inaugural Monologue Festival.

The Monologue Festival will feature a series of powerful performances by local actors, each presenting an original monologue that highlights their skills and creativity. The festival will celebrate the art of solo performance and offer a platform for actors to shine in the spotlight.

I first saw the movie Steel Magnolias in 1989 and I was uplifted and torn apart by the beautiful, heartwarming story, witty and moving script and the special relationships of the friends played exceptionally by Hollywood’s powerhouse of female stars. There was no doubt their friendships transcended off-screen to real life.

It is hard to find the words to fully describe the impact Robyn, Steve and Trevor have had on Beaumaris Theatre and our community. We are so grateful for the passion, leadership, compassion and creativity they have brought to the Committee, expertly guiding the Theatre through challenging times and establishing a strong foundation for the future.
