Drama Classes for children & teenagers

Our nurturing program encourages students to develop at their own pace, work to their strengths, and rise to new and stimulating challenges. We focus on voice projection, diction, and enunciation through acting and storytelling in a fabulous theatre environment. We also play games to inspire imagination and creativity.

  • Twinkling Stars for Prep to Grade 3

  • Rising Stars for Grade 4 - 6

  • Shinning Stars for secondary school students

In addition to drama classes, a musical theatre class is also offered for children and teens who adore singing and dancing. Each term we learn new show tunes and routines that students perform for an audience at our end of term concert.

Each term we work towards an end of term performance featuring plays or monologues that are specifically written for the students. Our young thespians love dressing up and performing for family and friends on our real theatre stage with theatrical lighting.

Our daughter has learned how to project her voice and speak confidently in front of an audience, has gained wonderful friendships, and increased self-esteem in the process. Whether your child is a budding actor or is shy and reserved they will benefit from these classes.

Debbie Keyt- Director

Debbie has been a passionate performer all her life. As a little girl, Debbie always played make-believe and adored participating in school productions.

As an actor, Debbie has performed with Strathmore Theatrical Arts Group, Mordialloc Light Opera Company, MOTTS. She has also performed in and directed historical plays with Black Rock House and at the Australian National Aviation Museum. In 1996 Debbie joined Beaumaris Theatre Inc. and performed on the hallowed stage on numerous occasions in wonderfully exciting roles.

In 2021 Debbie was honoured to be awarded the prestigious Music Theatre Guild of Victoria, Edith Harrhy Award for outstanding service to musical theatre.’

She has been an active committee member and office bearer at Beaumaris Theatre Inc. since 2002 and is an extremely proud Life Member.

I did drama classes with Debbie at D.K Productions for the most part of the first 16 years of my life and the payoff has been indescribable. I constantly find myself thanking her in the back of my head when I achieve certain things. Debbie was one of the most significant role-models throughout my youth and I have never hesitated to recommend her program.
