A Day in the Life of Marilla Cuthbert

We sit and ponder the upcoming events of the day. If time allows we sometimes sit on the porch overlooking the beautiful cherry trees when in bloom and take in the serenity together. Anne is always so excited for every day to begin and greets each day with such enthusiasm, expectation and curiosity.

I treasure this time spent together. It has never been easy for me to say things out of my heart but I love her as dear as if she were my own flesh and blood and she’s been my joy and comfort since coming to Green Gables. I used to think that there was no point to emotional needs but Anne has somewhat mellowed me.

A Day In The Life of Mrs Rachel Lynde

Time goes quickly as I apply myself to the task in hand. Once I get into the rhythm of it, I like to sing a hymn or two and milk to the same beat: Squirt boomp ,squirt boomp, squirt boomp. But … I don’t want to lose myself in song just yet: My mind wanders over the day to come. Later on I will take a quart of fresh milk to the new preacher’s wife who Anne is so fond of. That Anne; she is so whimsical…reminds me of Marilla a long time ago.

2020 Season Suspended

It is with heavy hearts that we are suspending our 2020 season in light of COVID-19 and government restrictions.

Our May production of Anne & Gilbert - The Musical will now be staged in 2021 and the remaining productions cancelled until further notice.

We would like to thank the countless people; production teams and cast members who have contributed hours of hard work and dedication to our season thus far. Although we are deeply saddened by the postponement of our season, the health and wellbeing of our community is our first priority.

Many of you will have purchased tickets to one or all of our remaining productions. We will be in contact with ticket holders in the coming days to discuss available options.

We will continue to monitor this unprecedented crisis and reveal our full 2021 season later in the year. We wish everyone well during this time and look forward to seeing you at the theatre again soon.

2019 Presidents Annual General Meeting Report: A Reflection on 2019

Our shows this year attracted audiences of more than 3,000 people. The four shows included 40 cast members, 25 crew and 22 musicians. This is over and above the more than 50 volunteers who provide all necessary things that a production needs, including set building, wardrobe (costumes), props, publicity, front of house, managing our website and Trybooking page, cleaning the Theatre and surrounds ordering supplies ensuring maintenance items are completed. So thank you to all our volunteers for ensuring Beaumaris Theatre can provide a great venue.

The Actor's Experience

The Actor's Experience

They Came From Mars and Landed Outside the Farndale Avenue Church is a play within a play so characterisation can be quite challenging at times developing the character as the Farndale character intermittently with the role that character is playing in their play about Mars! You have to see it to believe it! Often the dialogue is interspersed with both characters and as actors, we are playing two to three roles each throughout the play.

Working with Neil, Annie, Georgy and Meredith is an absolute delight. The more mishaps that happened during rehearsals, the more we laughed and the more Georgy, Meredith and Annie will say: "Let’s keep that in"!!!
