Jim Williams was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He was an excellent actor and performer, with a wonderful talent for comedy; a devoted husband, father and grandfather; a fabulous teacher; a keen sportsman and the loveliest man you could meet, with a heart of gold.
Jim's theatrical CV is impressive, dating back to his early days at MOTTS and here at Beaumaris Theatre, he graced our stage as Mutton in Dimboola- Anonymous Theatre in 2009; Cookson the Pirate, alongside his daughter, Carlyn, in Peter Pan, 2009; Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella, as the Footman and Chef in 2011 and Jim Trott in The Vicar of Dibley in 2012.
We dubbed dear Jim, 'Mr Dependable' both onstage and off as he was the consummate professional and a role model to young performers who learnt so much about stage craft by being in his presence and he was extremely reliable behind the scenes, helping whenever and wherever he could.
Jim had a cheeky sense of humour, a mischievous grin and a playful glint in his eye and to work with him was a privilege and to know him was to love him and a true honour and he will be sadly missed.
Our heartfelt condolences to Julie, Shane, Adam, Carlyn and all of Jim's beautiful family.
