Have you ever wondered how the Talbot Tattler or Talbot Awards received their name?

I am drawn to plays that have a little bit of magic about them. In Echoes we see the memories of an old lady being brought to life and can share her happy and sad times. So much more powerful than just reading the words, we see the emotion and tumult that the people who lived through the First World War were subjected to.

Every character requires their own voice, their own physicality, their own "thing". It's by far the most challenging play I've been involved in, for that reason alone. 

The adrenaline was pumping and the achievement of ‘getting it right the first time’ was a thrill.

Back in New Zealand, I watched a superb production of The Mystery of Irma Vep. Now, I'm fortunate enough to direct the show for Beaumaris Theatre. There's not many groups like Beaumaris Theatre that have the space and team to pull it off, so it's a privilege to work with them.

One of the highlights of my life is when Debbie Keyt tells me of her plans for an upcoming show and invites me to choreograph. This moment can only become more perfect when that show is Chicago.

This was a well-directed, well-rehearsed production presented with gusto and to which the audience responded with genuine appreciation.

I have loved the challenge of 'becoming Roxie' and trying to find that balance of a love/hate relationship with her. 

Beaumaris Theatre has put on the old “Razzle Dazzle” and staged their production of Chicago in a sassy and stylish fashion.

At last month's Annual General Meeting the 2018 Beaumaris Theatre Committee were elected and we're thrilled to be welcoming three new Committee Members who have been invaluable members of the Beaumaris Theatre community over the last few years.
